Rwanda English In Action Project
PROJECT TIMELINE
2009 – 2011
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
By 2009, the policy shift of language of instruction from French to English had gathered momentum. Ministry of Education supported by partners implemented the Rwanda English In Action Project (REAP) which comprised of two-week end of year national trainings in English and teaching methodology, for all teachers all-over the country. IEE trainers supported training of trainers and further supported field trainings for teachers on English language and pedagogy. IEE supported the three phases of REAP from 2009, 2010 and 2011.
It was the REAP project that evolved into the first phase of the School-Based Mentorship project in 2012 for which IEE modelled best practice and supported policy development.
